WHEN PALLETS CAN’T BE SAVED WE GIVE THEM A SECOND LIFE

PORTSWOOD PALLETS LTD

At Portswood Pallets LTD, we believe that even when a pallet reaches the end of its working life, it still has value. If a pallet is beyond repair and unsuitable for reuse, it doesn't go to landfill, it goes through our dedicated shredding process to begin a new chapter.

Our industrial pallet shredding machine allows us to break down unusable pallets safely and efficiently, ensuring that every component is repurposed, right down to the last nail and splinter.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A PALLET ENTERS THE SHREDDER

Even when a pallet is beyond repair, we ensure every part of it is recovered and repurposed. Our industrial shredding process is designed to minimise waste and maximise reuse, right down to the smallest fragment.

Automatic Nail Separation

As pallets are shredded, metal nails and fasteners are automatically separated by powerful magnets built into the machine. These recovered metals are then recycled or reused in applications like new pallet production, light construction, or manufacturing components.

High-Quality Wood Chipping

The remaining wood is shredded into clean, consistent wood chips that can be used across multiple industries, including:

  • Biomass fuel and energy

  • Animal bedding

  • Landscaping mulch

  • Chipboard and composite wood products

These wood chips are a sustainable, valuable resource for companies looking to reduce their reliance on virgin materials.

Nothing Goes to Waste

Every pallet that enters our shredder contributes to a closed-loop recycling system. Even the smallest off-cuts are processed and put to use supporting our commitment to a zero-waste operation and helping our customers meet their own environmental goals.
